Police Shot Dead a Suspected Robber in Mzuzu

A suspected robber has last night been shot dead by police when he was attempting to steal in one of the shops at Luwinga Industrial Area.

A spokesperson for the Mzuzu police, Paul Tembo has confirmed the shooting clarifying that it was in defense of the men in uniform as the robber charged them with a panga knife.

He has further said the suspected robber was in company with his five friends who fled the scene upon the arrival of the police.

Tembo has meanwhile said the deceased’s body has not been identified yet adding that the manhunt has been launched to arrest those five suspects who are on the run as of now.
